Editorial de música BOILEAU

http://www.boileau-music.com/

Editorial de Música Boileau is the oldest music publisher in Spain.  Alessio Boileau Bernasconi founded the firm in 1913 as an extension of his engraving and printing studio.  Since that time, the catalogue of works published by Editorial de Música Boileau has grown to include more than 3700 works.

Pedagogical works have always played a predominate role in the publications of Boileau.  In fact, an important ingredient in the success of Boileau is due to the fact that at a certain moment they were able to fulfill a need for pedagogical works in Spain.  During this early era one of the principal collections published by Boileau, Edición Ibérica (Iberian Edition), was created.  This series of publications includes works of the classical repertoire used by students in conservatories and music schools.  Even today, Boileau continues publishing material necessary for music education, all of which follow the most modern trends in music pedagogy and musical language.  At the same time, the number of books published by Boileau is constantly increasing, in response to the needs and interests of professional musicians.
At the same time, one of the guiding concepts of Editorial Boileau remains its deeply rooted desire to continue to form an important part of Catalan musical society.  This desire is clearly manifested in the business plan of the firm as well as in the frequent performances of music published by Boileau.  For this reason, Boileau has always been committed to the publication of quality contemporary music.  The Boileau catalogue includes works in numerous and diverse musical languages and styles for both symphonic repertoire as well as other ensembles, crowned by the prestigious collection titled Música del siglo XX y XXI [Music of the 20th and 21st Century].
Today Boileau is also recovering works by Catalan composers of the past century, works which due to war or post-was complications or to the lack of musical traditions in Spain, had not been published in our country.  Amongst these are such projects as:  the publication of the complete piano works by Enrique Granados, directed and revised by Alicia de Larrocha; the recovery of the compositions of such emblematic figures as Pau Casals and Joaquim Malats; the publication of all unpublished works by Frederic Mompou.

Boileau is well-known in the musical world for the exceptional quality of the their publications.
